Trash Talk! Cavs Guard in Trouble for ‘Throwing Away Fan’s Phone’

J.R. Smith spoke to police in New York City about claims he hurled a fan’s cell phone into a construction site last month, according to ESPN.

The Cleveland Cavaliers guard was reportedly issued a desk ticket for misdemeanor criminal mischief. He will appear in Manhattan Criminal Court later this year, said an official.

“This is nonsense and we’re not going to respond to nonsense,” Smith’s attorney, Alex Spiro, wrote in a statement to ESPN.

The incident is said to have happened in the Big Apple in July when a man tried to snap a photo of Smith.
