NBA Power Rankings –
Week 34

It seems turnabout is fair
play this year in the NBA Finals. Game 6 last night saw the Detroit Pistons
pick up a 95-86 road win in San
Antonio, forcing a seventh and deciding game on
Thursday night. The Spurs had been in a position to take the title last night
because of a road victory of their own in Detroit
in Game 5. Those two victories by the visitors halted the series’ trend of home
wins - Games 1 through 4 had all been won by the home team.
So who has the edge in Game
7? And who goes into the final game of the season in the top spot of the Power
Rankings? In order for the Pistons to pick up their second straight NBA
championship they’ll have to defeat the Spurs in San Antonio for a second straight game. That
seems like a tall order for Detroit.
We’ll keep the Spurs atop the rankings this week; should the Pistons pull out a
win, they’ll get the top spot in Week 1 next season.
